my nemesis has returned (aka: winter)

why, why, why do i live in WI??

(oh yeah, because i would miss my mom too much if i moved out of state. we already talk ten times a day. i can't imagine how much i would call her if i didn't live close to her).

what was i complaining about??? right. winter. i don't like it.

i never understand why there is so much confusion on the roads during the first snowfall. it's like WI people forget how to drive in snow, even though we just did it 2 months ago. (i realize that it wasn't snowing 2 months ago, but it does seem like winter comes really fast every year. 10 months of winter/2 months of spring/summer/fall all mushed together).

last night after work, i thought it was necessary to go shopping for new snow boots and to look for a sweater dress because i really need one for this holiday season, despite the fact it was blizzard-ing outside. i thought i was so smart because there would be no weather-related traffic by the time i was done shopping. wrong. i spent 2 hours stuck in traffic, for a drive that should have taken 20 minutes.

this is how fast i was going.

(that says 0 mph)

during these two hours...
-i caught up on emails, phone calls and text messages
-braided my hair
-plucked my eyebrows
-went through 8 million old cd's that were in my car
-filed my nails
-sang really loudly and obnoxiously and hopefully annoyed the people around me
-ate a grilled cheese sandwich
-alphabetized aforementioned cd's

i'm so not ready for winter.

If you were stuck - where did the grilled cheese come from?

i was wondering if anyone would catch that! i got the grilled cheese before the traffic. i was going to eat it at home but then i got really hungry!

Ew. I hate winter too. And winter driving sucks big time. MN is the same as WI. People who have lived here their whole lives suddenly forget that ice or snow when packed is slippery. Morons.

I hear you... I live in MN & have the same experience. Last winter, I was trying to get from Downtown Minneapolis to the U of M (less than 2 miles) - it took me 2.5 HOURS!!! I was ready to abandon my car and walk. I literally was screaming at the top of my lungs out of frustration... which is very out of character for me!
