i have spent a lot of time debating on whether or not i would jump on the twilight bandwagon. i have listened to my friends swoon for months over this edward cullen vampire fella. i decided that i was going to boycott the whole fad (damn the man!) and just roll my eyes whenever anyone talked about it in my presence.
then my roommate was having a really bad day and was down in the dumps. i'm sure the fact that i wrote "find a boyfriend" and "get a life" on her grocery list that she left sitting out the other day didn't really help, but that's besides the point. she needed something to cheer her up and asked if i wanted to go to a movie. i agreed and asked what movie she wanted to see and she said twilight. i politely reminded her that she was depressed and asked if seeing a vampire love story would really make her feel better and she said yes so we headed to the theater. we made the dude at the ticket counter super nervous and then convinved him to give us VIP seating for the general admission price and unlimited popcorn (which we ate none of). i'm not sure he has ever interacted with a female in his life.
anyways, back to the movie. i actually enjoyed it A LOT. i normally have no interest in vampires, but these cullens are not count dracula type vampires. i'm not going to say much because i don't want to ruin it for anyone who is reading the book/wants to see the movie/etc. but i am going to say two things....
1. i thought it was super lame when edward wanted to show bella what happens when the cullens go into the sunlight. i was expecting him to turn into this hideous, disgusting, scary montser, but no, their skin just glistens like "diamonds." for real? how is a vampire scary when it looks like they have glitter all over their body?? i would actually love to hang out with a sparkly vampire. it sounds awesome.
2. edward cullen is hot. even though he is really pale and looked like he was wearing lipstick at some points, he is still hot. now i know why my friends have been swooning over this vampire dude.

I have read the first 2 books but haven't seen the movie. I am always hesitant to go to theaters b/c its so dang expensive. So I usually wait until they come to DVD. This one though I really want to see. And I totally agree w/ the whole glittering thing. Lame. But Edward is still hot. :)
I agree - the glittering thing was lame. When it happened in the book I was like - 'really?' The books are really addicting. I liked the first 2 best. The 3rd one was ok. I'm holding off on buying the 4th.
I'm glad you like my book suggestions. I'm a book-aholic... And my friends tell me I have the style of a librian. yah. So I might put a want ad out there, looking for a male librarian to sweep me off me feet! Kidding! (maybe...)
I've been debating whether I should read the books or not. People seem to really like them, though.
Thank you for saying you don't get all the fuss about it, because I don't get it either. I would rather have a Pap smear than watch a damn vampire movie. Perhaps I need a friend to cheer up so I would be forced to go see it.
And that vampire kid looks like my babysitter's boyfriend. So not hot!
